About the Artist

Bonnie photo wtih paintingBiography

Bonnie grew up next door to her grandparents farm in Western, Massachusetts and spent most of her childhood working and playing in the fields. This is where her grandmother first taught her how to plant a seed. She would say, “first you need good soil, poke your finger down into the ground, put in some water, then drop the seed into the hole and put soil back over it and then more water on top.” As the season passed, Bonnie was amazed to see the vegetables growing. For her, it was magical.

“Painting on canvas……somehow takes me back to my childhood when everything was so innocent. For me, creating means taking chances, trusting, being in the moment, letting things happen, discovering, playing, and allowing the art to express itself through me.”

Bonnie first began exhibiting with a group show in 1990.  Since then she has exhibited in the United States, Europe, and Africa.  Her work can be found in many private collections.

Bonnie has a B.F.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an Associates degree in business and marketing and has worked at Fortune 500 companies.  She lives in Western Massachusetts with her husband, Tom, and cat, Cleo.
